You already know what it’s like to put in long hours behind the wheel – early mornings, tight schedules, and a lot of miles between you and a decent meal. But here’s something worth thinking about: what you’re grabbing at the truck stop or gas station has a direct impact on how you feel out there on the road. Energy levels, focus, mood — it all ties back to what you put on your fork. The good news? You don’t have to overhaul your entire life to start feeling better. Small swaps go a long way.

Start by taking a hard look at what you’re actually consuming day to day. The Standard American Diet — processed grains, fried foods, sugar-loaded drinks — is designed to be convenient, not to keep you healthy. Swapping fountain pop for water or unsweetened tea, trading the candy bar for some beef jerky or raw nuts, or grabbing a piece of fruit instead of chips adds up over time. You don’t have to be perfect. Aim for 80% solid choices and give yourself room for the other 20%.

Think of it this way: every cell in your body rebuilds itself over time. The fuel you’re running on right now is literally building the next version of you. Making one better choice per day — just one — compounds into real, noticeable results over the course of a year. You’ve spent your career delivering goods across this country.
